Favorites List – February 2014
The most favorite thing for me in the month of February is celebrating my oldest daughters birthday. She will be turning 11 this month. Happy Birthday Mi Amor! Now on to food…
To Eat – I have been on this lettuce wrap kick for a while now. They are super easy to make and my kids like them too! Here are three of my favorite recipes:
Turkey Lettuce Wraps from The Food Network
Chicken Lettuce Wraps Recipe from Taste of Home
To Do – Next to helping people be healthy (writing about food and nutrition, going in to schools or communities and teaching children and adults about ways to eat well or teaching indoor cycling classes), my most favorite thing to do is create art!
I love all kinds of art, like paining, collage, crafts, and jewelry design, but my favorite is taking recycled or discarded items and transforming them in to beautiful “art with purpose”. A friend and I started “Re-Up Arts” where we explore the many ways to use otherwise discarded materials to make art. We also provide summer camps for kids ages 6 to 11 to discover using and re-using the available resources around them to create “art with purpose” thus creating generations of artists who are more environmentally conscious. To Read – I have truly been enjoying reading about Joy The Baker’s travels in Uganda. THINGS I LEARNED IN UGANDA BIG AND SMALL
That’s it for February’s Favorites List, short and sweet, just like the month!
