4 Tasty (and healthy) Breakfast Smoothie Recipes
Here are four really good breakfast smoothie recipes for those of you who want to have an early morning breakfast, but just can’t stomach solid food. Try them out and see how you like them. Side note – these smoothies are great anytime!
Green Tea Smoothie
(Note: This one is my favorite!)

Ingredients:
1 frozen banana
1/2 large honeydew melon, cut into chunks
3/4 cup strong brewed green tea (use two tea bags and seep for ten minutes)
1 tsp honey
1/4 cup almond milk
Directions:
Blend all ingredients until smooth.
Yield: 1-2 servings

Pineapple Coconut Smoothie
Ingredients
1 cup fresh pineapple, chopped
1/4 cup coconut milk
¼ cup vanilla (or coconut!) flavored yogurt
1 tbsp sweetened flaked coconut
ice
Directions
Blend all ingredients until smooth
Serve with additional flaked coconut on top
Yield: 2 servings

Green Goddess Smoothie
(less than 200 calories per serving)
Ingredients
1 C baby spinach
1 C cucumber chunks
1/2 avocado, halved, pitted, and peeled
1 lg kiwifruit, peeled and chopped
1/2 C frozen kefir (we used Lifeway) or low-fat vanilla frozen yogurt
1/2 C fresh orange or tangerine juice
1/4 C mint leaves
Directions
Blend all ingredients.

Tropical Fruit Smoothie
Here is a vitamin C powerhouse that is thick and tangy making it the perfect rejuvenator for breakfast or as a mid-afternoon snack.
Ingredients
1 ripe mango, peeled, pitted, and cubed, about 1/2 cup
1/2 cup nonfat vanilla yogurt
1/2 ripe papaya, peeled, seeded, and coarsely chopped, about 3/4 cup
1 ripe banana, sliced
6 strawberries, stemmed and halved, about 1 1/2 cups
Juice of 1/2 lime
6 ice cubes, coarsely crushed
Directions
In a blender, combine the mango and yogurt. Puree until completely liquefied.
Add the papaya, banana, strawberries, lime juice, and ice.
Blend until smooth and very thick, 2 to 3 minutes.
